After a numerous years of supplying the Barclays Premier League, Serie A, and LFP with balls, Nike is at it again with releasing a new ball for the 12/13 season.

Following up the Seitiro, not much about the actual structure of the ball has seemed to changed. 32 panels of 5-layer textured casing is being used to help with more precise passes and shots. Under the cover, Nike has placed a layer of nitrogen expanded foam to provide better durability and shape retention, and in the bladder Nike has used a 6 wing carbon latex air chamber that they claim to “provide explosive acceleration”.

With the release of the Maxim, Nike for sure hasn’t left out any creativity on the aesthetics and pattern of the ball. Nike’s RaDaR (Rapid Decision and Response) technology is once again being used to give players sight of the ball, no matter what conditions you are playing in. As you can see in the picture above, a variety of shapes are being utilized to create a very unique pattern that will definitely stand out on the field.

Given that there are three leagues that Nike provides with the Maxim, each league is given their own unique ball design. The Premier League ball features navy, sky blue, and red as the three colors represented; to accompany this, the league logos are placed along the bold designs.

For the leagues in Spain, a black base  with sky blue and orange highlights gives the LFP ball a very bright look. Of course, the LFP logo is placed right above the Nike swoosh.

The last league ball that Nike has made is the Serie A, which is the top league in Italy. Personally, I think Nike has done a great job of making this specific ball by using the colors of Italy’s flag.
