When browsing through cleats yesterday, I came across a colorway that I had no prior knowledge to.

To start off with, you may have noticed that the listed colorway of this particular boot is the same as the Tiempo Flight FG that was released along with the Black/White/Challenge Red/Cool Metallic Grey Legends. But if you compare the FG and AG versions side by side, there is something very different about them, other than the soleplate.

Instead of a red tongue and black laces like on the firm ground version, the artificial ground Flight has a gray tongue with gray laces. I do have to favor the AG colorway, as I think the gray tongue/laces combines with the black upper a little better than the darker red used in the FG model.

The Tiempo Flight is the first takedown model from the Legend IV, and they feature a soft, comfortable calfskin upper. While it is not kangaroo leather, the upper still becomes very soft with play. To aid with comfort, a full suede collar is something that the Legend does not even have. Also, a small Poron insert is placed in the heel to help with cushioning.

The AG soleplate is very unique, as it uses various sizes of circular studs with cutouts in the center. AG stands for artificial ground, so this stud configuration will work very well on turf. I have not personally used this stud configuration before, but I know people who have, and they say it works just fantastic on turf. With turf becoming a very prominent surface now, investing in a pair of turf or AG shoes isn’t a bad idea.
